The lottery is live.
Due to Maryland charter school laws and the popularity of both of MMCI’s charter schools, admission to join either school is via lottery.
NEW this year:
You must create an MMCI log-in account to enter the lottery. Once your account has been verified with a valid email address, you will be able to add children and confirm your lottery submission. The log-in creation and application will be available from January 4th through March 7th. Every application entered during the application period has an equal chance at selection; the lottery is a random drawing of application IDs. Please note that there is no opportunity to enroll in either of our schools outside of the lottery process.
Please visit the enrollment page here.

(MMCI) is a local, volunteer-driven, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that manages two Frederick County public Montessori charter schools – Carroll Creek Montessori, opened in fall 2012, and Monocacy Valley Montessori, opened in fall 2002. Our schools are open to all children that live in Frederick County, and begin with Pre-K at age 3.
Mission: The mission of Monocacy Montessori Communities is to provide all children in Frederick County access to a high quality Montessori education that is free of charge through the establishment and management of public Montessori charter schools.
Carroll Creek Montessori, MMCI’s newest charter school, opened in fall 2012. CCMPCS has three classrooms at the Primary (age 3- Kindergarten), Lower Elementary (Grades 1-3) levels, and Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6) levels. CCMPCS will open one Middle School (Grade 7) classroom in the 2016-2017 school year. CCMPCS will continue to add a grade level with each year of matriculation until reaching capacity of PreK3 through Grade 8.
