On May 24, 2022, the following statement was unanimously approved by the MMCI Board of Trustees:
As a community, and in accordance with the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori, we strive to ensure all of our members feel valued and respected.
We celebrate differences and welcome all voices to shape culture, policy, and outcomes. We advance our diversity, equity and inclusion goals through shared responsibility, accountability, transparency and continuous improvement.
We commit to fostering an environment that supports learning and living in an ever changing world. We seek to ensure that all aspects of school life-including curriculum, admission, retention, hiring practices, and support for students, families, and employees reflect our commitment to these efforts. We plan to provide a safe space for all community members to grow and evolve.
We embrace truths, optimism, and the belief that as a community we will make lasting changes to the lives of each member in hopes that our students will make a difference in the world.
DEI Committee
MMCI is currently accepting nominations for membership on the newly formed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. The DEI Committee will advise the Board of Trustees and hold the board accountable for the ongoing work of fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in our schools.
The board is seeking inclusive representation from both of our schools, and invites all members of our community to nominate themselves or others to serve on the DEI Committee and/or to provide feedback on our draft DEI Statement. Committee membership is open to all parents/guardians, staff, and administrators of both MVM and CCM.
Applications should be submitted no later than Monday, May 16. If more nominations are received than spots available, members of the BOT will make final determinations.
